How We Got Started…
It all started 10 years ago when a group of friends got together for dinner. They were all freelance language translators working in their related fields. The conversation topics around the table changed from gossip to movies to relationships, and as it often did, switched to their respective careers.
Now, it wasn’t the first time the conversation turned lustily towards languages, discussing various aspects of the translation process that were intriguing, challenging and even entertaining. What was different is that they all realized how passionate they were about the languages they knew and the cultures that used them.
As the number of clients grew for each member of this little group, they started calling on each other for advice or for help so they could ensure the accuracy of each project and make their deadlines.
It was then that they realized their passion for languages could be turned into something greater than the sum of the individuals around that fateful dinner table. They decided they could turn their common passion for languages and professionalism into a business that would truly stand out above the competition and automated translation software programs.
By combining their strengths, experiences and knowledge they decided to professionalize their service under one name. Thus, DITTO was born in Hamra, Beirut, Lebanon.
